About our classes

All Classes

  • We offer classes to youth (Nijikko & Niji-pro) and adults

  • There is no entrance fee nor a fixed monthly payment for classes

  • All students, adults and children, are invited to dance at the NDS Recital in the Spring

  • Niji-pro and Nijikko students are invited to perform at four additional times per year (Halloween in Strawberry Park Shopping Center, sjDANCEco Festival, The Onyx Dance Competition, Kids ‘N Fun Festival in Cupertino)

    • Performances subject to change at the discretion of NDS

  • NDS does not convene in the summer months (except for two, three-day summer camps, details are made available just before their opening)

  • Purchase of costumes is required and are used throughout the entire year

    • Costume details and dress code are addressed in the FAQ



Niji-pro (6 years old+)

  • Niji-pro students pay at the first class of the month ($15 per class times the number of classes taken in the month); entry fees for Onyx Competition and NDS Recital are not included and are paid separately

  • There are no refunds or make-up classes offered

  • Classes at Li’s Wu Shu Academy (10268 Bandley Drive #107
    Cupertino, CA 95014)

  • Classes meet once per week and are selected from the following

    • Jazz - Wednesdays or Fridays or Saturdays 4:00 PM - 4:45 PM

    • Intermediate Jazz - TBD

    • HipHop - Wednesdays or Fridays 5:00 PM - 5:45 PM

    • Boys HipHop - Fridays 6:30 PM - 7:15 PM

    • Intermediate HipHop - Wednesdays or Fridays 5:45 PM - 6:30 PM

  • Summer Camp

    • Two, three-day summer camps are offered for Niji-pro students and transitioning Nijikko students

    • Camps are divided into Jazz (girls only) and HipHop (girls & boys)

    • Classes meet at Li’s Wu Shu Academy (10268 Bandley Drive #107 Cupertino, CA 95014)

    • Classes are $120 for each three-day camp; if a student takes both camps, cost is $200 ($40 discount)



Nijikko (2-3 years old, 4-5 years old)

  • Nijikko students may buy a punch card for their classes

  • The punch card does not expire ($150 for ten classes)

  • $17 per class, if no punch card presented (considered a “drop-in”)

  • Classes at Japanese Art and Cultural Center (4334 Moorpark Avenue
    San Jose, CA 95129)

    • 2-3 years old class - Sundays 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM

    • 4-5 years old class - Sundays 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM


Adults (Jazz, Hiphop, azulatin, azumba)

  • Adult class students may buy a punch card for their classes

  • The punch card does not expire ($100 for ten classes)

  • $15 per class, if no punch card presented (considered a “drop-in”)

  • Most classes are at Li’s Wu Shu Academy (10268 Bradley Drive #107 Cupertino, CA 95014)

    • Azumba class - Tuesdays and Saturdays 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM

    • AzuLatin class - Thursdays 9:30 AM - 10:30 AM

    • Jazz class - Saturdays 11:10 AM - 12:10 AM

    • HipHop class - Saturdays 12:15 PM - 1:15 PM

    • Additional Azumba classes available at the YMCA (2400 Grant Road Mountain View, CA 94040) Thursdays, 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM but you must be a YMCA member to attend


Private lessons (Solo classes)

  • First come, first served basis (15, one-hour spots but students selected for private lessons may purchase additional one hour classes at the same price)

  • Lessons open right before NDS Recital and are guaranteed a spot in the show

  • $120 for a single dancer (choreography fee $65 + studio rental fee $55)

  • For team, private lessons (choreography fee $65 per person + $55 studio rental fee divided by the number of people in the team)

  • Songs are selected by the student and are edited by Azusa for time

  • Costumes are not included and must be provided by the student
